Introducing the Site AI and News AI services

We are currently working hard on a significant AI service update to Affino, and preparing for our annual Innovation Briefing.

A great deal has happened this past year in the world of AI, and Affino’s AI services are no exception. We have been continuously updating our own ideas of what an excellent AI experience should look like. Our focus this year has been on the fundamentals, ensuring that the service delivers smooth consistency and is simple and fast to set up.

One of the things that has struck us is how much of a layer-cake AI is. We build one layer of AI services, and the next level suggests itself, and simply could not be possible without the previous layer of services. 

Site AI

At the core for us is the audience user experience, when looking for insight or catching up with the latest news, booking an event or buying a product, getting support, or simply joining in the conversation.

We call this the Site AI, which is the biggest evolution of user interfaces since the advent of responsive websites. It is a reimagining of what a website or indeed any digital experience should be when AI is fully incorporated.

The Site AI introduces AI interfaces throughout the web and digital experiences. The most essential of the Site AI is an integrated AI Chat for deep discovery and engaging interactive conversations. Enhanced content experiences such as Key Facts or automated short form articles and translations are transformative in allowing users to experience in their own language and at their preferred speed.

News AI

We will be launching our News AI service at the Affino Innovation Briefing on the 20th November at St Martin’s Hall, Trafalgar Square, London. This is a great step forward for quickly catching up with the latest news headlines.

This service builds on all the AI elements we have rolled out to-date and would not be possible without them. It is one of multiple services we are currently developing and we will be launching in the near future.

These AI services will be part of our core Affino SaaS service, and the upcoming AI Plugin services we will be launching in 2026.

Here’s the route we have taken to developing just one aspect of the the Site AI:

• Upgraded Affino’s entire technical stack to work with LLMs (Large Language Models)
• Incorporated LLMs including ChatGPT, Mistral, Claude (soon adding Gemini)
• We also launched multiple generations of underlying AI services, including vector databases to find the optimal technical solutions
• Created Affino’s six underlying Affino AI Engines: Affino AI Chat, Affino AI Copilot, Affino AI Analyst
• Affino AI Agents, Affino AI Mass Content, Affino Support AI
• We rolled out our AI Copilot for editing articles and generating article questions, with summaries, headings and social sharelines coming.
• Launched the Mass Content AI service for mass creating and transforming content in bulk.
• The core AI Chat engine we developed, helped increase our expertise at prompt engineering through multiple client projects, including safeguarding.
• Article summaries (coming soon) then become a key foundation for the upcoming News AI.
• Along the way we have discovered a host of ways to speed up and create more engaging AI experiences, giving users fast feedback while generating deeper and more insightful responses. Something that we will also be launching at the Innovation Briefing.
• Next year we will develop the News AI to be both text and audio, and then follow that up with a video version.
• This means that the News AI service will be fast and personalised, and evolving into a media rich experience.
• The News AI is also one of the key Affino AI Plugins we will be launching that can be incorporated into any website.
