Affino had the honour of participating at the recent IBP Journalisms Awards 2019 - this last Thursday night. We were one of the sponsors of the event, and our CEO Markus highly suitably presented the Digital Leadership of the Year Award to worthy recipient Jamie Harris of ’Building’ whose creative podcasts in particular attracted the admiration of the award’s judges. Accompanying Markus and Jamie in the above picture is of course compere for the night - celebrated radio host Nick Farrari from LBC; also in attendance was Affino CCO Jonathan Collins.
Affino has a number of Clients in the Building / Housing / Homes / Housing Developer space - so it was fitting that we were able to celebrate with so many directly associated winners - including Jack Simpson and Pete Apps of Inside Housing (News Reporter of the Year and Housing/Residential Journalist of the Year), as well as Housing 2019 (Event of the Year).
Affino would of course like to congratulate all the worthy winners and offer commiserations to the runners-up and wish them better luck next year. For me personally it’s heartening to see that the IBP and I share the same birth year with Woodstock and the Moon Landing! These were also the 50th Journalism Awards - and long-time organiser Gerald Bowey received a standing ovation for his immense contribution to the success of these events.
Here’s to another half century of progressive development!
