At the start of the Covid period, we determined that we would need something of a lighter touch to contrast that societal darkness. And so we set out to wholly revamp the Affino.com website - to make it clearer, more streamlined, fresher, and more friendly - while rolling out various new technologies and functionalities. We greatly expanded the colour palette and introduced a number of more vibrant tones to meet that purpose.

2020 was both a tumultuous and momentous year for TTG as they finely honed and shored up their Travel Industry Leadership credentials with a number of major projects and initiatives. They were the first in that industry to rally the sector together via dedicated Coronavirus Hub Page and facilities. They also led the #savetravel initiative which triggered and influenced government debate. Moreover TTG introduced their new Digital Print Archive as part of their newly launched Subscription ...
The UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has warned that multiple media companies are in breach of the law as regards the use and abuse of Personal Data.
We reported in October of last year how Covid had impacted the ICO and limited their enforcement of GDPR - to such a degree that non-compliance and Data exploitations were running rampant in the absence of any sort of punitive measures.
Several issues were identified in Real-Time Bidding systems and Programmatic ...
We witnessed a number of paradigm shifts in 2020 on the road to the ending of 3rd Party Cookie support.
Apple in particular was highly active on the user security front - introducing default 3rd Party Cookie Blocking right across its software portfolio. iOS 14, iPadOS 14 and macOS Big Sur all ushered in a new age of user-centric protections - to help prevent third party exploits which happen all too frequently on the internet.
And while Apple’s Safari and Firefox’s...
2020 was obviously a highly disruptive year - both for the making of cinema, and showcasing the final product. Leading to Disney’s Mulan for instance being launched on the Disney+ platform versus an official cinema release.
It follows that a number of 2020 film premieres got delayed and postponed into 2021 - while I feel this year will largely be equally disruptive and more than a few productions will be needed to be saved by Netflix or Amazon - and will end up getting their ...
We find ourselves in strange times, almost surreal at some points - with the Covid situation and strange political happenings around the world. This time has been typified by resorting to various home-comforts - including comfort-eating, and comfort-listening to a large degree.
This makes for a healthy does of Nostalgia with lots of flavours of the 80’s and 90’s harkening back to gentler times. We’ve see the continued growth of all kinds of sub-genres - with Twilight ...
2020 has been a somewhat peculiar year for me like most, in that most of my regular routine has been entirely disrupted and thrown to the wayside. I used to go to the cinema at least once a week and would typically take in the 3 comic book stores in central London within the same circuit. The end of routine has meant that I have not picked up the usual quotient of graphic novels as I no longer have the ability to browse and peruse how I was accustomed to - so no best of Graphic Novels for 2020....
We are all familiar with the concept of Dark Kitchens - where restaurants as such move to windowless industrial estate premises to purely serve home-delivery orders. A number of those kitchens are a little like an office-share - where several companies operate out of the same premises and share some of the costs and resultant economies of scale.
The Dark Shop phenomenon is slightly different and is typified by High Street and Shopping Mall Stores like Lush - who have significant city ...
A number of the best minds in the publishing industry will be presiding at next Wednesday’s Campaign Publishing Summit Event - including our good friend and ally Daniel Pearce, CEO of TTG Media, and our own CEO Markus Karlsson.

In one of a number of recent concessions to developers, Apple has decided to lower its Commission fees from 30% to 15% - for those apps which make less than $1m from the Apple App store annually - which covers most development outfits, with Apple estimating 98% of app developers benefitting. This is possibly short-term stimulus during the pandemic and may be reviewed and adjusted back at some stage next year.
It does though give hard-pressed developers and publishers running those apps...
