Conversion Event Import
Overview
Control > Marketing > Conversion Event Import
The "Conversion Event Import" process allows you to import conversion events for a list of users.
This feature is particularly useful for importing off-site or legacy activities into a system like Affino, enabling you to leverage the full benefits of each event.
In order to use this functionality you will need to:
- Acquire the UserCode and/or Email of the targeted users
- Acquire the ID of the specified Conversion Event
- Confirm the Date for each user’s Conversion Event
You then populate the import sheet with that data and proceed with the task.
Import File: Fields
The columns used in the Conversion Event Import are as follows:
- UserCode: This column is used to identify the user associated with the conversion event. It is a unique identifier for each user
- Email Address: This column is used to identify the user by their email address, which serves as a unique identifier to ensure the conversion event is correctly assigned to the appropriate user
- ConversionEventID: This column contains the ID of the conversion event you wish to import. It is essential to ensure that the ConversionEventID exists in the system before attempting the import
- Date: This column specifies the date and time when the conversion event should be considered as having occurred. If left empty, the default date and time will be set to the date and time of the conversion event import itself
These columns are crucial for ensuring that the conversion events are accurately logged and associated with the correct users in Affino.
Importing the Data
The Conversion Event Import screen only has one option/setting, which is for the import file.
- Select the Excel file to upload with the following columns: UserCode, Email, ConversionEventID, Date
- UserCode OR Email is mandatory
Note: please use the sample XLSX file since there could be updates the the columns
You can import a maximum 5,000 Rows at a time. Ensure that there are no more than 5,000 records in the XLSX file. Simply split a larger file into multiple ones for importing.
It is also important to note that importing conversions events can trigger other conversion events, which are related or dependant on the ones set for import.
Additionally, the conversion event import is handled by a scheduled task, which means it may take some time to execute and trigger the conversion events. This is important to consider if you are expecting immediate results after import is finished.
