Overview of the new Control Centre

The latest Affino 9.0.8 update introduces a transformative overhaul of the Control Centre, focusing on improved usability, personalization, and cross-device functionality.

This update establishes a foundation for future enhancements while delivering immediate productivity gains through streamlined navigation and adaptive design.

This guide serves as an overview of the new Control Centre, which is part of Affino’s major release for 2025.

Hybrid Control Centre Experience

The Affino 9.0.8 update introduces a "Hybrid" Control Centre (CC) as the first phase of a larger rollout.

The primary concept behind the hybrid approach is to immediately provide users with the benefits of the new Control Centre navigation and enhanced styling, while maintaining the functionality of existing screens. This allows for a gradual transition to the fully redesigned interface.

Key Aspects

  • Unified Navigation: Every screen, regardless of whether it's a completely new interface or a legacy screen, features the new Control Centre Navigation. This provides a consistent way to move around the Affino platform.
  • Mobile Optimization: Existing screens have been reworked to function better across different devices. Many daily tasks can now be completed on mobile devices without needing to switch to landscape mode. While some tasks may still benefit from a wider screen, the goal is to improve usability on smaller devices.
Visual Consistency: The visual design of legacy screens has been updated to align with the new Control Centre's design language. This ensures a more cohesive and modern look and feel throughout the platform.

Please note that new screens will work across all devices; hybrid screens work best on desktop/tablet.

Navigation Menu

The hubs on the navigation menu have been rearranged, with the buttons set from top to bottom instead of left to right.

Previously, the Control options were set in a different order. Now, the options are listed as follows:

  • CRM
  • Content
  • Marketing
  • Commerce
  • AI
  • Media
  • Structure
  • Design
  • Security
  • System
  • Custom

Personalization Features

The new Profile Menu has the following features:

  • Links to Favourites and My Content
  • Theme switching (light/dark mode) via the profile menu
  • Hide/Display the top Hub options
  • Hide/Display the Hub labels

To the right of that menu you have more options:

  • Link to the Affino AI Support Assistant
  • Custom Favourites (for quick access to frequently used screens)
  • Adjust the font size and spacing of the UI
  • Reduce spacing (Condensed Mode) between panels
  • Print

Restructured Hub Organization

The new version of the Control Centre has the following hubs renamed:

  • Social is now CRM
  • Publish is now Content
  • Promote is now Marketing

There is also a new AI Hub, which is a dedicated section for AI management tools.

It is worth noting that screens are now grouped in a new order. An example is CRM Analysis, which is now under CRM. Also, the Analysis hub is now removed as a standalone hub.

Each hub organizes features into logical groups (Manage, Settings, Analyse, Import/Export).

You can also search within the hub for the desired screen, using the Filter field. Type in the initial characters and Affino will automatically display the results.

Favorites Feature

Favorited items (e.g., Contact Lists, filtered Account views) now appear at the top of their respective hubs:

You can also view your saved Favourites on the sidebar to the right of the screen:

Note: you can only save a maximum of 50 favourites

Enhanced Content Search

We've redesigned Content Search with a full-screen layout for clearer insights and a sleeker interface.

Type in the desired text and hit to Enter or click Apply to instantly explore content across:

  • All channels
  • Knowledge sections
  • Individual articles

You also need to add in the ability to drill down by pressing the plus buttons on the right. Have a note that the plus symbol is for exploring what / if there is something in a channel / section, it is not always the case.

The new My Content filter lets you quickly surface personally created materials.

My Content

The "My Content" screen is designed to enhance user experience by providing quick access to recently worked-on content.  It lists the latest articles, sections, and channels, making it the fastest way to return to recent work.

To search, simply type in the initial characters and Affino will display the relevant results. You can also use entire words when searching.

What’s Next

In the next iteration, the new Control Centre will have the following improvements:

  • Listing Screen Overhaul: Responsive grids with customizable columns
  • CRM/Content Updates: Modernized interfaces for Contacts, Accounts, and Articles
