Subscription Dashboard Guide

Overview

Control > Commerce > Subscription Dashboard

The Subscription Dashboard provides detailed insights and analysis of subscription-related metrics. Its primary purpose is to give operational clarity and real-time statistics on subscription performance, focusing on paid and partially paid subscriptions. It excludes free subscriptions from charts because free subscriptions are not tied to orders and are not zone-specific.

Details

Dropdowns and Selectors:

  • Zone Selector: Displayed only if there is more than one zone configured. It filters data by zone, important because subscriptions are often tied to specific zones via orders.

  • Currency Selector: Filter by the available currencies
  • Date Range Picker: A date picker dropdown with options to select the time period for data display. The default is "Past 3 Months." Available options include: Past 3 Months, Past 6 Months and Past 12 Months
  • Interval Dropdown: Offers options to view data aggregated by: Monthly (default), Quarterly and Annually (disabled for the Past 12 Months range to maintain meaningful data granularity)

  • Apply Button: this applies the selected date range to the results
  • Reset Button: this resets the previously applied date range, setting it back to the default values
  • Layout Toggle: these buttons toggle between two views: All (Grid) View, which displays all charts in a grid layout. Single View, which shows one chart at a time with a dropdown to select other charts.

These controls allow users to filter and customize the subscription data displayed in the dashboard charts.

Charts:

  • Revenue: A line chart showing total net revenue from subscriptions, including fully and partially paid orders, segmented by currency. It uses orders where the Order Status is Paid Full, Paid Partial and Partially Refunded. The revenue is calculated from order line items using payment date and totals excluding tax.
  • Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Recurring Revenue: Shows normalised monthly revenue from active subscriptions with automatic renewal enabled. Quarterly and annual subscriptions are split into monthly equivalents.
  • Subscription Volume: Displays two lines per currency: Total Paid Subscriptions Created and Total Live Paid Subscriptions. It excludes free subscriptions and respects zone filtering.
  • New Subscription Customers: Tracks the count of new customers subscribing within the selected period, excluding free trial users and customers who have purchased a different subscription plan before.
  • Churn: Displays the total number of paid subscriptions that have lapsed and not renewed (status "Lapsed 60 days") during the selected period.
  • Average Revenue Per User - Shows the average yield for each subscriber, i.e. Total revenue / Total subscriptions for the selected period. Note: total subscriptions are used instead of total subscribers since some orders contain subscriptions that are yet to be assigned.

Please check the Tooltips for clear explanations of the data shown.

Key Metrics:

Key Metrics present single-value metrics for the current month, including:

  • Revenue: total paid orders.
  • Monthly Recurring Revenue: monthly recurring subscriptions.
  • Live Subscriptions: total live subscriptions.
  • Renewal Rate: calculated as total renewed subscriptions divided by total expiring subscriptions, expressed as a percentage.
  • Churn Rate: calculated as total lapsed and cancelled subscriptions divided by total expiring subscriptions, expressed as a percentage.
