Comrz Website Design Methodology

Introduction

There are numerous specialist branding agencies in existence, as well as numerous web-design specialists. Very rarely is one agency able to provide in-depth brand strategy within the context of practical website design. You often end up with either aesthetically beautiful sites with a marred user experience, or good usability websites with poor and disconnected brand identifiers. As a consequence, the Internet is littered with far too many websites which have little intrinsic relevance to the brands they represent. For many sites, if you were to remove the logo, there would be no discernible brand identifiers left on the screen– meaning negligible brand impact and zero added value for the actual website design.

Comrz has a pretty unique methodology which marries the best of branding with the best of applied design – creating strongly identifiable interfaces which also provide a superior customer experience in every way.

Brand Profile

The Brand Profile is always the starting point for a creative brief – the intricate exercise of defining the descriptive and contextual reference points to everything of any relevance concerning the brand for which the website is being created. Comrz’s Brand Profile overview and methodology are wholly unique, and amongst the most comprehensive brand planning systems in operation. Comrz works through the Brand Profile with the design client – to build up a fully comprehensive overview of the brand.

Brand Mapping / Mood Mapping / Visual Referencing

A large part of the initial process is about identifying actual, direct and indirect competitors, complementary, opponent and companion brands – to produce a clear relative positional reference to guide the direction of the design. These exercises are also about identifying the core target audience, their shared values, and their most likely benchmarks and stimuli.

Calls to Action / Channelling / Re-direction

All pages / screens of a Comrz-designed website are designed around key calls to action; i.e. what is the principal purpose for the end user on that particular page. Screens are also designed around optimised navigation – not just around the site structure, but also based on site visitors entering the site at any point – via Google or other affiliated parties or directories – and being directed to specific value-added gateways or storefronts.

Wire Frames

Once all the required references are complete, the key points are distilled into practical screen outlines – which detail the key functional, navigational and structural components. The signed-off Wire Frames become the chassis of the website, around which the various design refinements become the aerodynamically enhanced bodyshell of the interface.

Business Process-driven Design (Applied Art)

Comrz-designed websites very much focus on clear business goals and a clear purpose to making money online in every way possible. The aesthetics serve processes and functionalities which bring about a better customer experience – which is more likely to result in favourable conversion ratios – from registration to participation and interaction and through to transaction and repeat purchase.

Symbolism and Brand Reinforcement

The Comrz methodology contains numerous further design and branding ideologies which focus on establishing maximum brand impact and resonance - such that several brand identifiers – in terms of textures and mini symbols and iconography serve to reinforce your online presence, and make both your brand and website more positively associated and more easily recallable.
