Affino 7.1 is now out, and it’s a major release in every way. Whilst there are many aspects to this Affino release, the two key threads are improved scaling and greater engagement. Affino 7.1 has been significantly re-architected to scale with new search and analytics engines. With the release of Affino 7.1 we will also be migrating sites to our new super-scaling cloud.

This is a minor bug-fix and enhancement release for Affino 6.0. It solves key issues with newsletter scheduling and a number of critical issues with other Affino elements. There is also a small number of minor improvements.

More significantly this release solves the remainder of the initial issues with Affino 6.0. We will continue to monitor any issues as they come in and may do another release in two weeks if required.

The themes for this Affino release boils down to Usability, Performance and Groups. We’ve re-written the core template code generation engine, i.e. Skin Generator, to extract out all the JavaScript and CSS styling code wherever possible into separate static files. This will have a dramatic impact on performance, with up to 50% faster sites.
